More News

KEY WEST, Florida - Key West went into the bottom of the 9th inning of third game (Game 27) against Falls City, trailing by a run, and facing closing ace, Derek Lowe.  Manny Alexander led off by reaching on an error by John Olerud.  Then Dante Bichette stepped to the plate to pinch-hit for pitcher Steve Karsay.  Bichette delivered the Big Boy big play of the day...

[Simulated radio broadcast]

Here's the stretch by Lowe.
He checks Alexander at first, on by a John Olerud error.
Lowe gets the sign.
And here's the pitch.
Bichette swings.
And THERE IT GOES.
A DEEP DRIVE TO LEFT.
THE LEFT FIELDER IS GOING BACK.
HE LOOKS UP.
AND IT'S GONE!!!!!
AND THIS ONE BELONGS TO THE BIRDS.
DANTE BICHETTE.
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.
DEEP TO LEFT.
AND THE JAYHAWKS ARE ABLE SALVAGE A GAME THE RETURNABLES IN GRAND FASHION.
HOW ABOUT THAT!!!!!

Note: Don't bother tuning into 700 WLW tomorrow to correctly guess the Big Boy big play of the game because this isn't real baseball and it surely is not broadcast on the radio.
