FALLS CITY -- The American Baseball League has been no stranger to one-hitters this year.  This past Sunday, five Returnable pitchers combined to shut down Alabama for the league's sixth one-hitter.  Roy Halladay (KEY) was the first to do it against Tampa on June 26.  It was the first of three one-hitters tossed against Tampa this year.  Andy Pettitte (VEN) did it to them on August 15 and a myriad of Rebel pitchers did it again on September 15.  The irony of the latter was that Tampa's only hit was a pinch-hit 2-run homerun which turned out to be the game winner.  To add to Alabama's misery, the Rebels were one-hit by Al Leiter (DUR) on September 23 and again on Sunday by Falls City.  The Rebels' only hit came on a roll of '53' which resulted in a '16'...SINGLE, BATTER TO SECOND ON CF ERROR".  Manager Chris Bowling second-guessed himself after the game, "Yeah, I usually have Jenkins in there" (a 2 outfielder).  The other one-hitter was hurled by Pedro Martinez (DUR) against Key West on August 20.
