For the second year, the race for the Budweiser Division title is tight.  After 46 games, the Cherokees hold a 1 game lead on the Shaky Dawgs and the red-hot Cobras.  The Rebels are just 2 games out.  Here is how the math works:

Cherokees (vs. Shanghai):
Division title with 2 wins, or with 1 win and 1 Venom loss.
Clinch tie with 1 win and 2 Venom wins.
  Eliminated with 2 losses.
Shaky Dawgs (at Tampa):
Division title with 2 wins and 1 Venom loss.
Clinch tie with 2 wins and 2 Venom wins.
  Eliminated with 1 loss.
Cobras (vs. Alabama):
  Division title: cannot win outright.
Clinch tie with 2 wins, and 1 Tampa win or 2 Shanghai wins.
  Eliminated with 1 loss.
Rebels (at Venom):
Mathematically alive, however cannot win title or clinch a tie.  Eliminated with 1 Tampa win or 1 Shanghai win.

The playoff picture is clearer in the Miller Division.  The Durham Devils needs one win in its final four games or one Key West loss in its final two games to clinch another title.  Durham can wrap up home field advantage with two wins.

The action resumes on Tuesday, October 7 when Durham host the Grizzlies for games 45 & 46, and Venom hosts the Rebels to close the season.
