601: AMERICAN BASEBALL LEAGUE
PHILOSOPHY 601.1 The APBA Game Company has provided an Injury Duration Table to determine to the number of days in which an injured players must rest. The American Baseball League has modified this table to reflect the impact of the injury on a shorten season. The American Baseball League currently uses the ratio of 48/120 to determine the extent of the injury. This ratio is used rather than a straight 48/162 to slightly heighten the impact of an injury to its team. 602: USING THE INJURY DURATION TABLE 602.1 To use the Table, you must first refer to the injured player's injury factor, J-rating. 602.11 If it is J-0, you need not refer to the Table. Simply roll one (1) die. If the result is an odd number, the player must be removed from the game in progress. If the result is an even number, he may remain in the game. In neither case is he sidelined beyond the game in progress. 602.12 If it is J-1, J-2, J-3 or J-4, the manager must roll both dice, combine them in the normal manner, and refer to the proper column and dice roll number on the Table to find the number of days he will miss in addition to the game in progress.
602.2 If more than one (1) player is injured on the same play, make a separate dice roll for each player. 602.3 In the event that a player is injured for more than one (1) game and no backup player is available on the major league roster, the manager will be required to activate the backup player from the minor league roster in the game following the injury. 603: ADDITIONAL DAYS OF REST 603.1 Round card players are required to rest based on the J-rating. Players rated J-0 are not required to rest any game. Players rated J-1 are required to rest two (2) games. Players rated J-2 are required to rest four (4) games. Players rated J-3 are required to rest six (6) games. Players rated J-4 are required to rest eight (8) games. (990117/00) 603.12 In the event that a player is injured, any days of rest that have been recognized shall count as credit towards the required rest from an injury. Unless the injured player is a J-0, he shall always be out for at least the remainder of the game. 603.2 Off-days and games called because of rain count as one (1) day of rest toward the recovery of an injury. Three (3) days of rest are recognized between games #24 and #25. 603.3 XB (Square) Cards Due to the limited availability of the XB cards, injured XB players are not subject to the Injury Duaration Table, or J-rated days of rest.. To determine the extent of an injury on an XB player, simply refer to the J-0 rule. |
